Final thesis


At the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen we are lucky to have some of the best students in Denmark. Many students finish their degree by writing an excellent final thesis. These final theses should not be forgotten at the library but should reach a much larger audience. Newsletter and research column

CEP publishes a newsletter four times a year. In the first newsletter of 2012 you can read about the national Research Day which this year has the future of EUrope as the main theme, and that CEP has recently become a member of the European network called EPIN which is a gathering of think tanks and research institutions.
In the research column Postdoc Mads Dagnis Jensen explores Poland's first presidency of the EU, which took place in the second half of 2011.

CEP Final Dissertation Award 2012



On Friday 11 May, CEP honored Morten Jarlbæk Pedersen and Simon Pasquali with the annual CEP Final Dissertation Award. Together they have written the dissertation entitled: “The European Welfare States: United in Diversity?” Along with the award followed a diploma and a price of DKK 1957. Barroso, Thorning & Adler-Nissen


Assistant Professor Rebecca Adler-Nissen gave a presentation, when President Jose Manuel Barroso and Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt debated the future of the EU. Among other things, Rebecca Adler-Nissen claimed that at the moment the EU is experiencing a Titanic-moment where the current crisis is challenging the core existence of the EU.

Courses Spring 2012

It is now possible to see the EU related courses offered by the Department of Political Science in the Spring semester 2012. Among many orthers, professor Ben Rosamond will be teaching 'Theorizing European Integration' and ph.D. Ruxandra Lupu Dinesen will teach 'European Foreign Policy and the neighbourhood Policy'. Also look out for the Jean Monnet Lectures and the EURECO lectures. Programmes will be available late January 2012.
